  • Fall Garlic Harvest: Tips for a Bountiful Yield

As fall approaches, your garlic plants will start to show signs of maturity. Look for the leaves to turn yellow and brown. This is a clear indication that the bulbs are ready for harvest. Harvesting at the right time ensures optimal flavor and storage. Once the leaves have begun to die back, carefully dig up the garlic bulbs. Be gentle to avoid damaging the bulbs. Gently brush off any excess soil. Allow the bulbs to cure in a well-ventilated area for a few weeks. After curing, store the garlic bulbs in a cool, dark, and dry place. Proper storage will help maintain the quality and flavor of your garlic for months to come. Consider using mesh bags or paper bags for optimal air circulation.
